Endress+Hauser, the Swiss-based instrumentation and automation manufacturer, and SMAR, the Brazilian-based instrumentation company specialized in field communication, announced that they will cooperate strategically in the area of field communication technologies. The two companies have already been working together on Foundation Fieldbus solutions. Under the alliance the two companies will develop together products that they will sell independently in the market. The two private companies remain autonomous and independent.
Within their strategic technology alliance SMAR and Endress+Hauser will focus the scope of their cooperation to field communication in general, including Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Hart and other standardized technologies in order to provide open solutions to their customers.
