Smar Mexico team at XXIX ATAM: Omar Lopez, Luis Salazar, Oscar Matus (Smar Mexico Director) and Fernando Rosas

Smar was an active participant at the XXIX Convention and Exhibition of the Association of Sugar Technicians of Mexico (ATAM) hosted in Veracruz, Mexico. The company displayed its state of the art and internationally accepted solutions and equipment for the sugar and alcohol industry. In addition, Smar presented technical presentations both at the exhibition and to a number of local sugar mills.

Mexico’s sugar industry had undergone a significant development period in the past and then had become somewhat dormant. However, current indications point to an encouraging and remarkable growth phase for the industry. The Mexican annual sugar cane yield is roughly six million tons and is one of the predominant world sugar producers.
