In August 2006, a production separation train began utilizing Smar System302 at the PDVSA state oil company Jusepín complex in Venezuela. The control system is installed in the Module 8 production separation line at the refinery and has a daily capacity of 45,000 barrels of oil.
“Venezuela has launched an incentive program for the oil industry and Smar is focused on integrating with them in this development”, explains Swen Rodulfo Baechler, Oil and Gas Division Business Manager. “This negotiation has paved the way for entry of Smar business in the country”, he added.
System302 will also be installed on AQUAVERSION´s AQC-320 pilot plant of Intevep – PDVSA´s Center of Investigation and Technological Support, located at Los Teques, near Caracas. This center is responsible for the corporation’s technological assets. The Smar control system will be installed on the catalytic production process that produces high quality diesel and average distilled by-products made from heavy and residual crude oils.
