Smar both at the International Fair of Technique and Technical Achievements

The International Fair of Technique and Technical Achievements is one the world’s largest technology exhibitions and has been held since 1957. This year’s event took place in the capital city of Belgrade, Serbia from May 8–12. WIG d.o.o. has been the Smar representative in Serbia for the past 10 years and so marked their 10th anniversary at the event.

WIG displayed product within a 100 square meter stand in collaboration with three of its major business partners, Smar, Krohne and Gestra. Each partner represents a different sales segment providing complementary products for WIG representation. Smar exhibited its entire product line of valve positioners, transmitters and software including Syscon and Process View. The control system System302 was presented via a demo kit that provided the visible enhancement to increase its user friendliness and acceptability to the control industry. The impressive innovation of the year was the new Smar Series 400 transmitters that have just been introduced to the market.

Mr. Dante Coelho de Lima is the esteemed Brazilian ambassador to Serbia and was present at the WIG d.o.o. stand to greet show attendees. This traditional Eastern European event presents an opportunity to establish new contacts with clients and vendors targeting new business niches. According to Douglas Lunardi, Smar Business Development Manager, the exhibition focuses on a very active and promising market. “Smar’s presence in this event is essential, for the favorable visibility it attracts. WIG grew some 70 percent in one year, which clearly reflected a sales increase for Smar,” he concluded.
