Series 303 - Field Devices Family

With SMAR's PROFIBUS PA 303 device family, you are able to take full advantage of Profibus PA technology in distributed systems, process control, automation and engineering.
A wide range of products, including transmitters, converters and positioners, are available for several application.
The digital technology used in the Series 303 enables the choice of several types of functions. An easy interface between the field and the control room, superior accuracy, stability and several interesting features reduce the installation, operation, and maintenance costs. Configuration and Parameterization all through open and interoperable configuration tools available in the market, e.g., based on PC or PCMCIA Cards(e.g., PDM from Siemens) or operations by the local adjustment switches (should be used with a LCD display).
The LD303 is a transmitter for differential, absolute and gauge pressure, level and flow measurements. It is based on a field-proven digital capacitive sensor that provides reliable operation and high performance:
- 0 ~ 125 Pa to 0 ~ 40 MPa.
- 0.075% accuracy of the calibrated range.
- Wetted parts in 316 SS, Hastelloy, Tantalum.
- Use of the function blocks Totalizer for flow or mass integration and Analog Input.
- Totally digital; including sensor, electronics and communication.
- Digital LCD display (optional).
- Weather proof, explosion proof and intrinsically safe.
The LD293 is the model for economical alternative gauge application. Its lightweight design eliminates the need for mounting brackets and transmitter supports in many applications.
The TT303 is a transmitter mainly intended for measurement of temperature using RTDs or thermocouples, but can also accept other sensors with resistance or mV output such as: pyrometers, load cells, resistance position indicators, etc. The transmitter accepts up to two channels, i.e.,up to two measurements. This reduces the cost per channel.The TT303 accepts up to two sensors and may operate in one of four modes:
- Single channel single sensor measurement.
- Dual channel dual sensor measurement.
- Single channel dual sensor differential measurement.
- Single channel dual sensor backup measurement.
The FY303 is a control valve positioner for a pneumatic valve in a PROFIBUS system. The elimination of many mechanical parts in the FY303 is the biggest advantage over other positioners in the market. Valve characteristics, action, absolute and rate-of-change limits, etc are configured in software instead of a mechanical cam and spring. The changing of the Action behavior or changing of the Flow characteristic (linear, equal percentage, hyperbolic (quick opening) or a freely configurable table) may be done. These and other software capabilities make the FY303 extremely flexible. The continuous self-diagnostics of the positioner issues alerts for a range of hardware and software failures and problems with the positioner or valve immediately. This enables maintenance very easy.
The DT303 is a transmitter for concentration and density measurements. It is based on a field-proven capacitive sensor that provides reliable operation and high performance.
The Concentration/Density transmitter DT303 (Touche) is a device to measure in continuous mode the concentration and density of liquids, directly in industrial process. Suitable for static and dynamic fluids and liquid interface measurement. It is composed for a probe with two repeater diaphragms into the process fluid. The probe is connected to a capacitive sensor, extern to the process, through the capillaries. A fill fluid transmits the process pressure in the two repeater diaphragms to the differential pressure sensor. A temperature sensor into the probe and between the two repeater diaphragms makes the automatic compensation of any temperature variation of the process. According to the industrial process, the measured concentration can be expressed in Density, Brix , Degree, Baume Degree , INPM Degree, Plato Degree, Solid %, API Degree, General Concentration,etc.
The TP303 is a transmitter for position measurements. It can measure displacement or movement of rotary or linear type. It may be used for control valve stem position measurement, or in any other position sensing application such as louvers, dampers, crushers, etc. Since the TP303 uses a non-contact magnetic coupling for position sensing, it less sensitive to vibration than other solutions, resulting in longer operational life. The TP303 mounts to any linear or rotary valve, actuator or a variety of other devices through the use as VDI/VDE and IEC/NAMUR etc.
Migration of existing interfaces to PROFIBUS Devices with conventional digital and analog interfaces in the chemical and process engineering industries can be connected to PROFIBUS PA via Smar PROFIBUS PA 303 Converters, using the FI303, IF303 and FP303. The IF303 is a converter mainly intended for interface of analog transmitters to a PROFIBUS system. The IF303 receives a current signal, typically 4-20 mA or 0-20 mA, and makes it available to the PROFIBUS PA network. The IF303 has three inputs, reducing the cost per channel.
The FI303 is a converter mainly intended for interface of a PROFIBUS PA system to control valve, or other actuators. The FI303 produces a 4-20 mA output proportional to input received over the PROFIBUS network. The FI303 has three outputs, reducing the cost per channel.
The FP303 is a converter mainly intended for interface of a PROFIBUS system to a pneumatically actuated control valve, or a positioner. The FP303 produces a 3~15 psi (0.2~1.0 kg/cm 2 ) output proportional to an input received over the PROFIBUS PA network.

RP302 Profibus Repeater
A proven Fieldbus signal repeater that can extend a Fieldbus network length up to 1900 meters. The RP302 accomodates conductors up to 2.5mm (12AWG) and features low DC leakage.
RP312 S Profibus Active Repeater
The RP312-S offers all of the features of the RP302 and provides signals up to 125mA @ 18V for field devices.
SB302 Intrinsically Safe Profibus Barrier and Repeater
A combined signal repeater and H1 isolated barrier, the SB302-S provides up to 60mA @ 11V for hazardous network field devices.
SB312-LP Intrinsically Safe Profibus Barrier and Repeater
The SB312-LP offers all of the features of the SB302-S with power up to 80mA @ 14V for hazardous network field devices.
SEMICONTDUCTOR FOR PROFIBUS
