SMAR launches its Engineering Exchange Program in Saudi Arabia

SMAR Brazil in partnership with its representative Al-Abdulkarim Holding Company from Saudi Arabia launched its Engineering Exchange Program to promote cultural and methods of operation in order to improve related technologies through engineering, innovation, possible implementation, applications and employee training. This knowledge was gathered by observing the host’s field operations including actual hands-on involvement in those operations, and participating in the daily work activities in accordance with a detailed work program approved by the SMAR –PMDivision. The exchange on both sides also included various visits to local oil&gas facilities and chemical plants in order to obtain the latest knowledge on the host country's oil&gas innovations.

According to SMAR Business Development Manager Maximilian Ludewig: “this program also played a key factor to certify Al-Abdulkarim facilities and its associates as SMAR System Integrator, this partnership will also allow our representative to better represent SMAR business strategies in the Saudi Arabia marketplace”, he concludes. 

Roberto Piovesan Genari
Roberto Genari spent three months in Saudi Arabia, last quarter 2008. During this technical exchange program he visited the cities of Al-Khobar, Damman and Jeddah, to accompany the work carried out by Al-Abdulkarim Holding Company, SMAR representative, and also by Saudi Aramco.
According to Genari, the Exchange Program was a contribution to his professional career, by expanding his technical knowledge, in the meantime improving his abilities as speaker during workshops and presentations; having also a unique opportunity to learn how to deal directly with end-users and their diverse and rich cultural aspects.

Rafael Derencio
During the first quarter 2009-Rafael Derencio visited the cities of Al Khobar, Riyadh, Damman and Manama in Saudi Arabia getting acquitted with the regional business core and applications strategies managed by Abdulkarim Holding Company, SABIC and Saudi Aramco.
Experiences were directed to technical support and field work installation of SMAR pressure, temperature and positioners devices. Derencio adds that the Exchange Program created the opportunity of new field skills, more technical and cultural knowledge of unique applications for the oil&gas market, and a new global community of friends.

Delisson Lessa Fonseca
In Saudi Arabia from May to August 2009, Fonseca also followed the work provided by Al-Abdulkarim Holding Company and visited the cities of Al Khobar, Damman, Oatif and Al Jubayl. He states that the experience in the Saudi Arabia has been excellent, also enabled me to know better the daily challenges of a B2B structure linked to a unique engineering environment, provided me with more professional skills, and a platform to new possibilities.
