State of the art SMAR products and systems have been used on the automation of differente industrial processes at Usina Vista Alegre of Itapetininga, SP.

Among the jobs carried out by SMAR with backup from Carlos Vencel,  plant Industrial Manager  and Eduardo Lourenço Mappa, Cogeneration and Automation Supervisor, are the implementation of COI, the Center of Integrated Operations, the mounting, configuration and startup of an energy cogeneration boiler, the automation of a boiler with steam reducing system, and the juice treatment sector cookers.

According to Vandeir Aparecido Teixeira, SMAR Sugar and Ethanol Division salesman, the entire Usina Vista Alegre field area have 100% SMAR technology, such as  the LD301, LD303, Touché, FY301, FY303 and the TP301.

Washinton Luiz Barros, SMAR Instrumentation Technician, states that the cooperation between the two companies has been going on for years. “In 2008, we installed the SYSTEM302 with PROFIBUS DP, which uses our DPV1 master and the DF73 on the crusher”, he adds.

To Barros, the automation helps the plant operation a lot, since the data acquisition facilitates the work and presents diagnostics for the programmed actions and the process improvement. “With the startup of an automated  new boiler at Vista Alegre the plant became self-sufficient in energy, while supplying the produced surplus to a local company”, he adds.

Founded in 1980, the Vista Alegre mill is a major producer of sugar, ethanol and clean energy.
