First FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus End User Council in Middle East

Monday, January 10, 2005

The first meeting of the FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus End User Council Middle East (FFEUCME) was held in Manama, Bahrain, from September 13-15. The Foundation Fieldbus End User Council is an organization set up by end users to provide education and information for the proactive development of this emerging technology. The end users play a definitive role in promoting FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus and are instrumental in communicating the value and full potential available with this technology. The addition of the Middle East council supports the FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus End User organization already present in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas.

During the FFEUCME, Smar showed SYSTEM302 products such as the HI302 Hart to FF converters, DC302 FF remote I/O modules and AssetView, the powerful asset management software, which integrates both FF and HART instruments at the same time.

"The FFEUC is important in distributing and informing potential end users about FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus technology, because it allows current users from different industries and countries to share their experiences with FF system implementation. This is the very first time that an end user council meeting occurred in the Middle East and is a clear indication that FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus is establishing itself as a major technology trend in process control in the years ahead", says Roberto Pinheiro, Smar Business Development Manager for the Middle East.

More than 120 individuals attended the End User Council Meeting and represented companies from Egypt, Iran, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
