- How does distributed trending work?
The
device may do trending itself. This way periodic time critical communication
is not necessary. A MMI only needs to poll a device for data when a particular
parameter is displayed on the screen. When the parameter is not displayed,
polling need not be done.
A
set of data, 16 samples, is collected over a short, user configurable,
period of time and is then automatically sent in a single communication
to the MMI where the long-term storage is done.
